Precious Moments

Embree almost never randomly naps. She's absolutely not the type of child that "sleeps when she's tired". Instead, she will make your life miserable when she's tired, then maybe go to bed for the night early. She likes to nap on a schedule, in her room, on her terms. She rarely sleeps in the car and would never just decide to take a nap because she's exhausted. That doesn't mean she doesn't sleep. It just means that if we haven't put her down for a nap between 12:30pm- 3pm, it's probably not going to happen. So moments when she listens to her body and let's herself relax because she's had a big morning are PRICELESS!
I just got home from work and am BEAT! I didn't bother taking off my work clothes or doing much of anything before crawling into my bed. I asked Em to cuddle with me, and she willingly snuggled up beside me. It could be that I reek of lavender or that I massaged her face a little bit (she's a sucker for a facial massage), but my hyper-active, go-go-go girl just fell asleep in my arms:)!! I love moments like this!! I just wish it weren't so unexpected. I mean, I have nothing to do while she lays on me, and I'm scared to move or make noise for fear that she will wake up! It would be nice if I could fall asleep, but Em actually gets her strange nap behavior from me. I hate napping. I have no problem going to bed at night, and I usually sleep great (when I'm not pregnant), but I don't like napping during the day. So... I guess I'll just sit here... Very, very quietly...
