Doctor Appointment/Mission Fatten Baby

I am a typical first-time mom – so the runny nose I was worried about (this was a month ago) was just that – a runny nose. Her cold was very minor and gone in a few days. The bad news of this particular doctors visit came during the weigh-in. At Em’s one year check-up, she was 17.6 pounds. I’m terrible at estimating anyone’s weight, so in my mind I just KNEW that Em would weigh 20 pounds at fourteen months (She can’t even sit in the forward-facing car seats until 22 lbs, so I’m very excited for us to reach that benchmark). Our little princess has always been petite, averaging in the 5th percentile for her weight. At this doctor visit (now fourteen months old), the nurse informed me that Miss America weighed 17.7 lbs. I made her check again. That is so tiny!!! The doctor said he was concerned since she was now off the charts again. In summary… I’m now a woman on a mission! Part of my reason for not blogging is that I’ve been too busy stuffing food down my daughter’s throat. The foods Em really likes are healthy and don’t contain many calories or fat. So the gloves are off… Now Girlfriend’s been eating Ranch dressing, butter on everything, cheese, cookies, M&Ms, and Yo Baby yogurts like crazy. Don’t’ judge me people! She won’t drink milk, and she hates facing backwards in her car seat like a newborn! We’ll see in a week or two how we’ve done, but based on my own tight pants, I think we’re successfully packing on the pounds over here.
