Easter Carnival

Easter was so much fun this year! Last year I felt very unorganized. I was still trying to figure out how to be a mom, and Easter snuck up on me! This year I was more prepared (sadly, not much more, but still…). We went to the Easter “Carnival” at church with Uncle Coop and Aunt Val. That was A LOT of fun, but I’m almost embarrassed to post the pictures. Let me give you the background first…

I kinda dressed Em in a rush for the carnival. She’d never worn the outfit before, and since it’s the same size as everything else in her closet, I was really surprised to find it was a bit snug! But we needed to leave, so our beautiful baby girl had to wear a tight turquoise tank with flowered spandex leggings and looked very much like she was headed to the gym. It gets worse…
The sun was out and Miss Thang doesn’t have any hair (as if you hadn’t noticed). She refuses to keep her cute little hat on, so I had to sunscreen-up her hair. Wow. Nothing like greasy, stringy hair to accentuate your too tight gym outfit. Then when we get to the carnival, we find every other child dressed in their Sunday best. I looked for a hole to crawl into, but couldn’t find one. Embree had no idea that she was the worst dressed baby at the carnival, and Uncle Coop and Aunt Val always make her feel like a beautiful princess. Aunt Val took her sweet niece down the inflatable slide and introduced her to all the animals.

Uncle Coop chased Em all over, and proudly stood beside her while she YELLED at the dog and ducks. Then Aunt Val fought off the other toddlers so that Embree could pick up two eggs during the Easter egg hunt.

Here she is walking up and down, and up and down, the hill with Daddy.

She even made some new boyfriends (despite her fashion faux-pas)!

Later, we hung out at the Chaney’s (Valerie’s parents) house where Em got to jump on the trampoline and play the piano with her toes… All in all, big day and tons of fun☺
